Implementing the EASST Road Safety Education Pack for children

In Greece, EASST and Make Roads Safe Hellas have transformed road safety education in Chania’s public schools. As of 2020, road safety training has been provided to over 3000 schoolchildren using the EASST Road Safety Education Pack. Parents and decision makers have been educated about the importance of keeping children safe as both vehicle passengers and pedestrians. In 2016 the Pack was voted the number 1 initiative introduced to schools that year by local teachers. The project is now being rolled out in Athens via the Hellenic Motor Museum.

In addition to road safety education, Make Roads Safe Hellas and EASST are working closely with the municipality of Chania to transform a number of dangerous black spots in the city into safe road crossings.
